Pham Le Hoai Phong

Hey, I'm

Pham Le Hoai Phong

Automotive Software Leader & Program Manager

I am a results-oriented Automotive Software Leader with 10+ years of experience delivering end-to-end Airbag Control Units software for major OEMs across China, Japan, and Vietnam. Currently at Bosch Global Software Technologies Vietnam as Senior Tech Lead and COEM Program Manager, I lead strategic accounts (Geely, BYD, Xpeng, Xiaomi) and drive technical capability across engineering teams.

My background is grounded in solid technical foundations—spanning roles from Software Architect to Program Manager—enabling me to steer projects from acquisition to SOP while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and innovation. Before transitioning to industry, I spent 3 years as a researcher at Tokyo Metropolitan University designing field-deployable LIDAR systems for meteorological applications.

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I'm passionate about software architecture, team development, and solving complex automotive challenges with technical rigor and innovation.

COEM Delivery Manager, leading SW Engineering team to deliver high-quality software, ensuring ASPICE process adherence, and meeting customer expectations on cost and timeline.

Key achievements: Grew SW Engineering team to ~30 people while maintaining stability. Built next-generation SW Architects (x6) and shaped team competence development roadmap. Delivered ~90 project variants in 2022 under dynamic scope and timeline pressures.

Bosch Global Software Technologies Vietnam

Specialist / Software Architect

2019 – 2021

Software Architect for COEM (GWM, Chery, Xpeng), JOEM (Subaru), and VinFast projects. Served as technical lead through full software development cycle using V-model methodology. Applied DRBFM and FMEA methods for safety-critical software, ensuring ISO 26262 compliance.

Key achievements: SW Architect of first key GWM project, achieving successful SOP under preponed timeline and frequent requirement changes—enabling Bosch to grow as lead supplier. Delivered EDR SW function for pilot Toyota project with zero customer defects. Resolved critical Subaru SW issue on-site at Bosch Japan, identifying root cause and implementing preventive measures via 8D methodology.

Bosch Global Software Technologies Vietnam

Senior Software Engineer

2016 – 2018

Software Function Owner, responsible for developing Event Data Recorder (EDR) function. Tech stack: Embedded C (MISRA compliance), AUTOSAR BSW, MBSWE, and tools (DOORS, ALM-CCM, ALM-SCM, Rhapsody, pure::variants, QAC, VectorCast, CANoe, CQ, MKS, AMEOS).

Key achievement: Delivered EDR SW function in full compliance with US, EU, and CN regulations for both COEM and JOEM projects.

Tokyo Metropolitan University

Research Fellowship

2012 – 2015

Researcher at Optical Sensing Lab, collaborating with Meteorological Research Institute. Designed a field-deployable LIDAR system for heavy rain forecast, sponsored by JSPS KAKENHI grant. Pioneered the use of modulated laser pulse technique, enabling both near and far-field water vapor measurements.

Key achievement: Successfully designed and deployed a compact water vapor differential absorption LIDAR (DIAL) system with advanced laser modulation techniques.
